Care Guide

  • The products we've selected are made to be worn —beautifully and often, year after year. To help them last, follow these general guidelines:

    • While our pieces are crafted to be durable, they’ll appreciate a gentle touch.
    • Most items can be spot cleaned with a soft cloth, mild/wool detergent and warm water. Avoid harsh abrasives or prolonged soaking unless otherwise noted.
    • Always check the individual product care labels
    • Avoid sudden changes in temperature (like straight from warm to cold water) to prevent thermal shock.
    • Always store knits folded. Avoid hanging pants on hanger clips long term.
  • Firstly, really ask yourself—do I need to wash this garment or can I just spot clean it?
If you notice an odour, try airing the garment out for a few days for a refresh.

But sometimes, weather it's because you'd be spot cleaning the whole jumper or you've noticed the garment's gotten a little out of shape from love and wear, or you're storing the garment long term, the answer will be to wash.

The safest way to wash any knit is by hand in lukewarm water with a wool specific detergent.

NEVER PUT A KNIT GARMENT IN THE DRYER - apologies for yelling, but this is the biggest no go and it will shrink and/or felt your garment in an uncontrollable way.

We do however, encourage the use of washing machines when set to a wool or delicate cycle using cold water and a low spin speed.
Before leaving them lying flat to dry, you can roll them up inside a towel to help reduce excess moisture, resulting in a faster drying time.

Always check the care label before washing your garments. Feel free to reach out to us if you would like specific advice.

  •  Pilling is a common textile occurrence where loose fibres cluster into small balls on fabric surfaces—and it's completely normal. This happens as your clothes experience the natural wear and washing that comes with everyday use.

The process unfolds in four phases: initial fuzz appears, fibres become entangled, small nodules form and grow, and eventually they shed away. You'll typically notice pilling in areas that experience the most friction, like underarms and seat areas.

The good news varies by fabric type: wool naturally sheds its pills over time as fibres gradually release and break free, while synthetic fabrics may hold onto pills longer due to their stronger fibre structure. Longer fibres tend to resist pilling better since they have fewer loose ends and require more wear to work free from the weave.

Most importantly, pilling is purely a surface concern—it doesn't affect how your garment performs, feels, or wears. Your clothes remain just as comfortable and functional, even with a few pills present.

  • We highly recommend using a fabric comb, like the ones by EEZY comb— available here—to gently encourage the pills to detach and come away from the fabric.

Other methods are available such as scissors or a fabric shaver which works by cutting the fibres. However, we find this method leads to further pilling faster as you've left a loose fibre right on the surface of the garment.
